WEDDING RECEPTION

Preparation for a wedding requires great effort and planning over the ensuing months.  Details that need to be organised include designing the bridal gown, purchasing accessories such as a wedding ring pillow and choosing  the wedding reception.

It is important to  plan the wedding reception in detail as guests tend to spend more time at the reception than the wedding ceremony.  There are a few important elements to consider to ensure the wedding reception is a success. 

VENUE

The choice of venue sets the mood for the reception.  There are so many choices available for couples. Examples include : Boutique Hotels, Gardens, Restaurants and Resorts.

FOOD

Couples can choose to have their food served as buffet or a la carte.  There is currently a trend to host receptions as an informal cocktail party were guests are able to sample small appetizers, gourmet food  and exquisite desserts. Non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks should be available to cater for all guests.

COLOR

Choosing the appropriate color scheme impacts greatly on the wedding reception atmosphere.  Autumn weddings normally involve gold, brown, yellow and red tones while Spring weddings feature green,blue and white tones.

THEME

There are so many themes that can be used as inspiration for a wedding reception.  Brides and grooms can choose to have a garden, beach, oriental, contemporary, vintage or country theme reception.  Couples are now even choosing to have their wedding and wedding reception in romantic destinations such as Italy or Paris or exotic locations such as Thailand or Morocco.

GUESTS

The number of guests determine the type of venue.  Small wedding receptions, less than 100 people, can be accommodated in boutique hotels and restaurants whereas weddings with 500 guests or more tend to be held in bigger hotels.
